Christmas Cookies

Equipment

  • Stand mixer
  • Cookie cutters
  • Baking parchment
  • Cookie sheets

Ingredients

  • ½ Cup Unsalted butter
  • ¾ Cup Sugar
  • 1 Eggs
  • 2 Tbsp Milk
  • ½ tsp Almond extract
  • ½ tsp Lemon zest Grated
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 2-¼ Cup All purpose flour

Instructions

The night before

  • In stand mixer, cream butter and sugar
  • Add eggs, milk, almond extract, and lemon zest and mix.
  • Blend in flour and baking powder gradually.
  • Chill over night

The next day

  • Preheat oven to 350°
  • Roll out dough to ⅛" on floured surface
  • Use cookie cutters to make shapes, etc.
  • Bake each batch of cookies for 8-10 minutes.

Notes

This recipe can easily be doubled.
Decorating frosting can be made with confectioner’s sugar, a bit of soft butter, a shot of vanilla, and milk to desired consistency. There is no real recipe. – Paula
You can separate the frosting into bowls and add a few drops of food coloring to decorate the cookies with.
