Christmas Cookies

Ingredients
- ½ Cup Unsalted butter
- ¾ Cup Sugar
- 1 Eggs
- 2 Tbsp Milk
- ½ tsp Almond extract
- ½ tsp Lemon zest Grated
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 2-¼ Cup All purpose flour
Instructions
The night before
- In stand mixer, cream butter and sugar
- Add eggs, milk, almond extract, and lemon zest and mix.
- Blend in flour and baking powder gradually.
- Chill over night
The next day
- Preheat oven to 350°
- Roll out dough to ⅛" on floured surface
- Use cookie cutters to make shapes, etc.
- Bake each batch of cookies for 8-10 minutes.
Notes
This recipe can easily be doubled.
Decorating frosting can be made with confectioner’s sugar, a bit of soft butter, a shot of vanilla, and milk to desired consistency. There is no real recipe. – Paula
You can separate the frosting into bowls and add a few drops of food coloring to decorate the cookies with.
