Equipment

  • Stand mixer
  • Baking parchment
  • Cookie sheets

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Unsalted butter Softened
  • 1-½ Cup Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1-½ Tbsp Orange zest
  • 2 Tbsp Dark corn syrup
  • 3 Cups All purpose flour
  • 2 tsp Baking soda
  • 2 tsp Cinnamon Ground
  • 1 tsp Ginger Ground
  • ½ tsp Cloves Ground
  • ½ tsp Salt

Instructions

Cookie prep

  • In stand mixer, cream together butter and sugar.
  • Add the egg and mix well.
  • Mix in orange zest and dark corn syrup.
  • Add remaining dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
  • Chill dough overnight.

Baking the cookies

  • Preheat oven to 375°
  • Roll out dough to ¼" thick.
  • Cut out various shapes and place on cookie sheets ~1" apart.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes.
