Paula's Christmas Cookies

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Unsalted butter
  • 1½ Cup Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 4 Tbsp Milk
  • 1 tsp Almond extract
  • 1 tsp Grated lemon peel
  • 2 tsp Baking powder
  • 4½ Cup Flour

Instructions

Make the dough

  • Let butter come to room temperature
  • In stand mixer, cream together butter and sugar
  • Add eggs one at a time until combined
  • Add milk, almond extract, & lemon peel
  • Blend in flour and baking powder gradually
  • Chill dough overnight

Baking the cookies

  • Preheat oven to 350°
  • Roll out dough to ⅛ inch thickness (Note: Keep unused dough cool in refrigerator)
  • Cut out cookies and place on cookie sheet
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes
