Buttermilk Drop Biscuits

Equipment

  • Drop biscuit pan

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups All purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp Baking powder
  • ¼ tsp Baking soda
  • 2 tsp Sugar
  • ½ tsp Cream of tartar
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • ½ Cup Unsalted butter (I use a little extra butter to use in pan)
  • 1-¼ Cups Buttermilk

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 450°. Place biscuit pan in oven to get it hot.
  • In mixing bowl, stir together dry ingredients.
  • Cut in butter with a fork or pastry blender to course crumb stage. (I just use my hands to mix it in).
  • Add buttermilk and stir until just blended. Should be quite lumpy.
  • Remove pan from oven and spray with PAM or melted butter.
  • Drop dough into pan filling each section.
  • Bake about 30 minutes or until brown on top.
