Napoli Casserole
Equipment
- 9×13 Baking dish (3 quart)
Ingredients
- 4 Tbsp Butter
- 4 Tbsp Flour
- 2 Cup Milk
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 Cup Mozzarella Shredded
- 1 lb Italian sausage Either hot or mild
- 2 Cup Orange/Yellow peppers Chopped
- ½ Cup Onion Chopped
- 1 Cup Tomatoes Chopped
- 4 Cup Bow tie pasta Cook this ahead of time
Instructions
Make white sauce
- In medium pot, melt butter over medium-low heat.
- Stir in flour and stir continuously to make a roux.
- Add milk in parts and whisk until it thickens.
- Remove from heat and add salt and 1 cup of the shredded cheese.
Prep sausage and vegetables
- Remove sausage from casings, and cut into chunks.
- Put in skillet over medium-high heat and brown.
- Add in peppers and onions and cook until tender.
Bring it all together
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- Take sausage and vegetable mixture and stir in sauce and the 4 cups of precooked pasta.
- Pour into a greased casserole dish and top with remaining cheese.
- Bake for 20-30 minutes or until cheese starts to brown.
